15. The Home of the Sporting Singapore

Welcome to the offices of Sport Singapore (previously known as the Singapore Sports Council, or SSC), the Singapore National Olympic Council, and the Singapore National Paralympic Council. Marker 15, The Home of Sporting Singapore, details the rise of Singapore sports from the ashes - literally - for Sports House burned down one morning in 1985. Recovering from this setback, the SSC organised many mass sporting events under its "Sports For All" policy in the 1980s, such as dragon boat races.

You may refer to pages 52 - 55 of the Guide Book for more information.
